Target is making a comeback for Canadians! The US discount retailer has opened an international website that gives Canadian shoppers the option to order products to ship over the border now! This is great news for those Canadians that miss having Target (they closed all their stores in Canada after a terrible attempt to move into the Canadian market). I was seriously totally bummed when Target closed their doors.
Shipping won't be cheap if you do plan on shopping Target online however. Borderfree, a company that specializes in cross-border online retailers is operating the international site, duty and customs will be paid up front at checkout.
I wonder how well this will do, considering Canadians shoppers did not respond well to having Target here and they failed to turn a profit with their stores. I already notice Canadians will have exclusions trying to shop on this site, at the top of the page it reads "International Orders are not eligible for: free shipping (including for REDcard holders), free returns, gifts/gift cards with purchase, gift wrap services, Cartwheel offers, subscriptions, registries, coupons, store pickup, warranties, extended service plans. However, I am definitely interested and look forward to checking it out. Thoughts?

Depending on what products they offer, I'd be willing to shop online, why not? As long as they don't raise the prices too much.
ReplyDeleteNo way they treated Canadians so badly, I don't see a reason to shop there, bring back Zellers!
ReplyDeleteI agree. They pushed up the prices so much for the CDN market it wasn't the same store anymore.
DeleteWe need more competition like the old days...Bargain Harrold's, Bi-Way, Zellers, heck, bring back KMart too!
Why hasn't the reply II posted yesterday shown up?
