Tips for Getting the Most Out of Shoppers Drug Mart
This weekend was another Shoppers Drug Mart Spend Your Points Event! We spent 50,000 points and got $100 worth of free stuff!

It's so much fun redeeming points, although I wish I would spend it on fun stuff like makeup/beauty products but we usually get household/food items with our points, and then once in a while I'll redeem for beauty. We got 34 items total and spent about $20 out of pocket (we were over a bit and taxes).

I redeem often, usually once every few months (always during a Spend Your Points because you get more value). We redeemed last month at the 50k mark too, I like to wait until I am at the top level but I've been shopping a bit less at Shoppers lately.

My tips for getting the most at Shoppers Drug Mart:
• The biggest one is shop during bonus multiplier events, this includes the 20x Optimum Points that way you get the most points the fastest possible. I limit myself to very small shops if necessary or I do big shops to get a lot of points.
• Watch your account for personalized coupons, these are catered to you and will have special coupons and multiplier events (you can now load these directly to your card, no need to print unless you prefer that.
• If you ever have an issue with your shops, contact Shoppers customer service they are very good at crediting you with points. I sometimes have issues with the personalized coupons not being very specific, for example the "spend $30$20 on food and snacks and get x bonus points" is very open to interpretation I think and often times the items that I buy do not qualify, so I contact customer support and they credit me if they believe I should of received the points.
• Use free product coupons (FPCs) and $ off coupons to bring your total down while still getting points and Shoppers does not tax on FPCs, the only store that I know that doesn't, which is great.
• Always have your Optimum Card with you, if you happen to forget it, come back with your receipt within a week to the store you purchased the items at and get them to add the points on afterwards.
• Get your wife/husband, significant other to sign up for a card and then transfer their points onto your card (or vice versa). That way you are both collecting points and can combine them to redeem quicker.
• Shop when items are marked down. I find that Shoppers can be more expensive than other comparable grocery/drug stores and so I always look for items on sale and only buy them then. I also only redeem for sale items. For example, if a new mascara has just come out, it will be more expensive at Shoppers, wait until it is on sale to purchase it. This is a no brainer, but I often hear people saying Shoppers is so expensive, it's about checking flyers and waiting to buy when items are marked down. Tonight all but 2 of the 34 items that I redeemed for were "sale" priced.
• Redeem during the Spend Your Points Events, or the Super Spend Your Points Event (that's usually around Christmas) for the most bang for your points. If you redeem when you reach the lower levels, you aren't getting the most that you could.
•  Use the Shoppers Drug Mart mobile app, they recently updated it and it's a neat way to look at flyers, make shopping lists and see your personalized coupons and I believe cashiers can scan your card off there too now (but don't quote me on that).

Those are some of the tips off the top of my head, but I am sure there are many others, if you have anything else to add, please post below!
